About the role:
As Head of Commercial – South, you will oversee JCDecaux’s commercial portfolio across VIC & SA, leading the strategy, governance and performance of key contracts with private, business and government partners. You’ll drive regional growth by optimising our outdoor lease portfolio, securing new assets and contracts, and ensuring our sites deliver strong outcomes for brands, communities and JCDecaux. You will also play a critical leadership role in coaching and developing a high‑performing Commercial team and acting as JCDecaux’s senior commercial ambassador across the Southern markets.
A Day in the Life:
Whilst there’s no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:
- Lead commercial strategy and execution across VIC & SA, ensuring contract governance, profitability and sustainable growth.
- Own end-to-end management of major private and government contracts, including tenders, renewals, negotiations and terminations.
- Develop and implement regional growth plans, identifying and securing new outdoor advertising assets and contracts.
- Optimise financial performance by managing rents, capex/opex, business cases and annual commercial budgets by region.
- Partner with Development, Product, Strategy, Sales, Operations and Finance to deliver new asset developments on time and on budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, site owners, government bodies, industry partners and internal stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop Commercial team members, fostering a high‑performance, engaged and collaborative culture.
- Ensure the optimal allocation of capital across the product portfolio base
- Assist with commercial business cases with related opex and capex for new and renewed contracts
- Monitor financial performance by region and drive initiatives with the EGM Commercial, EGM Product and EGM Strategy to maximise revenue and margin
- Provide consolidated reporting on market performance, growth opportunities and strategic initiatives to the EGM – Commercial on a monthly basis
About You:
- Extensive experience in commercial, property or media roles, with proven multi‑market leadership responsibility.
- Strong track record managing complex contracts, tenders, renewals and negotiations with private and government stakeholders.
- Commercially astute with demonstrated experience managing budgets, business cases and financial performance.
- Skilled relationship builder and influencer, confident presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- People leader who coaches, develops and inspires high‑performing teams aligned to business strategy.
