About the role:

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will be a member of the team responsible for managing the end to end fortnightly and monthly payroll process for Australia and New Zealand. The role involves month end and year end responsibilities and providing quality and accurate payroll services to the organisation, ensuring the payroll function performs effectively and efficiently.

 

A Day in the Life:

Whilst there’s no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:

  • Accurately process end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payrolls in Australia and New Zealand
  • Preparation of all ad-hoc/ manual payments outside of standard pay runs, including but not limited to: Expenses, Commissions, Bonuses, Parental Leave and Workers Compensation
  • Ensure final payments are processed accurately and timely in accordance with company policies and local regulations (good understanding of termination and redundancy calculations)
  • Manage the integrity of the Time & attendance system
  • Assist Payroll Manager to document all key payroll related procedures with periodic reviews to ensure regulatory requirements are maintained
  • Prepare data and documentation for internal & external audits
  • Work closely with the Finance team to prepare monthly and annual general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist the P&C and Finance teams in the provision of payroll data, reports, etc. as required including quarterly financial data to France, providing WGEA payroll data each year etc.
  • Efficient management of payroll analytical reporting requirements to stakeholders across the business by providing analytical reports relating to Headcount, Leave Liability, Payroll cost and other relevant reports as required

 

About You:

You will be a customer focused, motivated and pro-active payroll professional with demonstrated experience across the full function payroll cycle. Someone who is used to and enjoys working in a small team environment.

Ideally:

  • Chris21 or iChris Payroll exposure
  • Advanced Microsoft Office – Excel
  • Month-end experience ideally with Financial background/exposure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
