THE OPPORTUNITY

A newly created opportunity, the WHSE Senior Advisor is a management level position within the Operations department, reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Environment, with a dotted line to the Country Head, New Zealand. The role is responsible for delivering JCDecaux’s WHSE commitments to its people, contractors, and customers.

The role will participate in the fostering a strong safety culture within the organization, through delivery of field and office-based education and leadership programs.  Working closely with Senior Management in New Zealand to develop, coach, and oversee the delivery of key safety leadership activities by JCDecaux and its contractors in New Zealand.

As required, you will also provide subject matter expertise in the areas of WHSE risk management, incident investigation and corrective action, sub-contractor management and inspection, and audit.  The delivery of JCDecaux’s integrated management system in a compliant and standardized manner will also be a key focus area for this role.

 

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Adapt JCDecaux ANZ WHS Strategy to NZ business.
  • Work closely with NZ management to ensure the development and delivery of leadership safety indicators
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and delivery of the Integrated Management System (IMS) as it relates to contractors and employees of JCDecaux NZ
  • Conduct field-based assurance exercises such as workplace inspections and behavioural interventions
  • Support the delivery of WHSEQ activities such as risk management processes, incident investigation & corrective action close out.
  • Keep up to date with and retain competency in legislative H&S requirements as they relate to OOH industry, and educate the business with legislative changes as required
  • Ensure WHSE performance evaluation and management review activities are undertaken
  • Identify linkages and systemic risks and monitor strategic issues that impact on the broader business strategy
  • Assist in development & implementation, of educational programs, policies, procedures and practices across JCD delivery partners workforce, and JCD offices, depots and worksites.
  • Assist in delivery of objectives and targets to ensure successful reaccreditation across all applicable ISO and AS/NZS standards.
  • Coach front line leadership and key contractors to improve competence and WHSE IQ.
  • Develop improvement plans in consultation with head of country based on analysis of WHSE performance trends

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience within a similar role as well as:

  • Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline, or recognised qualifications and work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability negotiating and influencing senior, and front-line leadership
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
